I have been debating for the last year or so about opening a portrait studio for indoor portraiture. I will always love outdoor light and great backgrounds but I’ve also wanted to play and see what comes out of a studio setting. For the most part, it’s an exercise to see what I can do with light and four walls. I want to learn something new with every session. This is my very first session and I learned a lot about how beautiful studio light can be for a bridal.

Two vendors that I LOVE and want to thank for making the pictures even better are

Ashley and Lexi from Signature Bridal Salon for the gorgeous dresses in Lakeway and

Stephanie with Bouquets of Austin for the hair wreath

AND a huge thank you to my beautiful niece, Kardi, for being a very patient model.

Lucy and Justin had a gorgeous fall Four Seasons Hotel Wedding. Their garden ceremony outside the ballroom had the most beautiful light and as a photographer, it reminds me of why I love the fall so much in Austin. I thought I would feature the fall light on this post.:)

Lucy and Justin, I wish you both the very best!!

Barbara Hearne with Barbara’s Brides did her always fabulous job of bringing it all together. It really was gorgeous.

Ceremony, reception, catering, cake and bar was done by the Four Seasons Hotel with Kelly as the venue planner.

Stephanie with Bouquets of Austin did the flowers and I’m always thrilled to photograph her work.

Officient was Judge John Lipscombe

Ceremony music, harpist Dian

Reception music was by Top Choice DJ

Hair and makeup was by Adore Salon

Courtney and Bradley had a gorgeous wedding at the Don Strange Ranch this past weekend that was crazy unique and fun. I LOVED Courtney’s dress and all of her personal touches. Bradley’s uniform made it so touching because it reminds me that you can’t take anything for granted. — The BARN. It’s the first time I’ve photographed a wedding in a barn and I think I’d like to shoot that more often. The light and ambiance made it sparkle and yet the simple ceremony in front of the fireplace was very homey and beautiful. — I have to give a special shout out to Clink for taking a ranch and turning it into the perfect wedding/reception venue. It was beautiful in every direction and they’re known for that in our industry. I loved it all!

Courtney and Bradley, I wish you both the very best!!

Katie and her team from Clink were their wedding planners with the magic wands
Melanie Tipton with Last Petal was their florist
Michelle with Michelle’s Patisserie provided the cakes
Ilios did the professional lighting — thank you:)
Josh with Penguin Entertainment was the DJ
Emerald City was the rocking band
Amelia Tarbet with Amelia Tarbet Photography was my second shooter

Erin and Chris had a beautiful Camp Lucy Wedding this past weekend out in Dripping Springs. I LOVE this venue with all of the gorgeous views and places to photograph portraits. Erin had the arch professionally lit so we could do an outdoor night time portrait which was amazing against the sky out at Camp Lucy. — Erin and Chris had their ceremony in Ian’s chapel which is perfect for a more traditional ceremony. Erin’s dad was so adorable with how he tried to contain his emotion while walking his daughter down the aisle. It was also great to see Chris’s smile when he saw Erin for the first time looking stunning in her dress. — We had a great time photographing their portraits out in the gorgeous light just before sunset. It had drizzled all day out at Camp Lucy and then the sun came shining through the clouds which created light that I love. It doesn’t get any better than that.:)

Erin and Chris, I wish you both the very best!!

Vendors names are coming. Great pics don’t happen without them.:)
